Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” ― Winston S. Churchill
Making a mistake is not equivalent to failure, it is part of the path to success. Being able to pick yourself up from falling is what drives you to success. It is interesting how we can look back and reflect on our experiences and think about what we could have done differently. I find myself still thinking about certain situations that happened years ago while driving or in the shower, and it is important to have these reflections so that you can do things differently and better in the future.
One of my pitfalls during my time at SDSU was not joining a student organization. Ever since I joined the program I have been encouraged by my advisors and professors to join MESA or NSMH, but I pushed it off because I was overwhelmed with work and school. I debated on joining one time, but I ended up not joining and I think it is one of my biggest regrets during my college years. From my "industry connection," I learned how important it was to make connections because opportunities can arise at any time, which is why this is one of my regrets. I wish that I could have said that I was a part of something, like a student organization. However, I have learned from these mistakes and therefore I will hope to join some sort of organization or community in the future.
